Five Element Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine
East meets West…
Integrating his training and substantial experience in both Five Element Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Joshua uses a range of diagnostic tools to tailor treatment to each individual patient’s needs.
An acupuncture treatment uses ultra-fine needles to stimulate the meridian points in the body tissues, just below the surface. It is a very relaxing experience which will leave you feeling calm and revitalised.
These ancient holistic practices aim to stimulate the body’s natural ability to self-heal and can be used to treat illness and alleviate stress, and as a preventive medicine to strengthen the immune system and constitution.
Joshua’s work is heavily influenced by the teachings of Professor John Worsley, who first brought Five Element Acupuncture to Britain. The basis of that teaching is perfectly described by The Worsley Institute:
‘The ancients observed how the fundamental elements of creation, wood, fire, earth, metal and water, create life’s natural mysterious order. When these five elements manifest within us in a balanced and harmonious state, we experience health, wellbeing and the joy of being alive.
‘Professor Worsley realised that every human being has one true cause of disease. He called this unique, original and distinguishing discovery the Causative Factor (CF). When the CF is diagnosed and treated, the cause of disease resolves and the symptoms signalling the imbalance disappear. This style of acupuncture elegantly restores our balance and harmony and returns us to the health and wellbeing that is our natural right’.
